Description
The Taegeuk 8 Jang symbolizes "Kon", one of the eight divine signs, which represents "Yin" and earth, meaning root and establishment, as well as beginning and end. This is the last of eight Taegeuk poomsaes, allowing practitioners to take the promotion exam for Dan (black belt).
Emphasis should be placed on step precision and the distinction between the jump kick and the dubal-dangsong (alternate kick while jumping in the air).
This poomsae is practiced by Kup 1st grade students.
